A singer of immense talent and skill with a silky and yet
scintillating voice that straightaway pierces into your heart and makes you a
lifelong addict of her voice…Nisha comes from a full-fledged music-cult of a
Brahmin family from the earthquake city of India, Bhuj.

Her Career:
She is a self-made person who has come a long way to meet
with her dream of becoming a playback singer since a tender age of 3 years. She
is a post-graduate in Indian Classical Music (Masters of Music) from the famous
M.S.University of Baroda, India. At the onset, she bagged the Best Singer ---
ISRO Trophy (1987) in a TV singing competition ‘Mehfil’ at Ahmedabad.
A
promising talent:
In Baroda, she became very famous as a Garba singer with a
group called Rishabh. Few years down the line she became a celebrity due to her
electrifying performances for huge masses of 1,50,000 people under one roof for
all nine nites of Navratri Festival. She bagged many more awards for State
Youth Festivals and other contests. She was about to file for her PhD in Music
and it was at that time (1990) the famous music director Kalyanji Anandji
spotted her performing talent on stage and invited her to move to Mumbai and
train for playback singing under his tutelage.
Dedication:
Nisha finally left Baroda in 1992 and came to Mumbai for
good. Sheer hard work, practices and focus on goals were her close mates. She
stayed as paying guests at many places and in hostels to sustain her livelihood
along with her career. Having groomed
with discipline for 5 years, in 1997, she started getting invitations for
performances in major events and then she commenced her full-fledged concerts
with known artists of the music industry. There was no looking back after the
hard struggle and systematic and disciplined learning of 15 years.
Fame:
She performed in various parts of the world USA, U.K.,
Europe, Middle East and Far Eastern countries with success and fans following
her everywhere. She has the honor of singing with the celebrity singers of
Bollywood viz. Kavita Krishnamurthi, Kumar Sanu, and many. Her albums in the
market got rave reviews and tremendous recognition. Recently she lent her voice
for Yash Raj Films!

Feathers in her cap were added one after another, some of

Best Playback
singer Awards 1998-99, 2000-01. More than 2500 concerts worldwide.
Awarded
as ‘Best Playback Singer’ from Govt. of
Gujarat 2000-01 and 2003- 2004.
MTv Fame:

with Times Music got
the
MTV award at the recently held immie awards)

I and my wife are from Baroda, and have been huge fans of your singing since the 80s/90s when you were instrumental in making Baroda "the city of the circle dance"! We live in Canada, and even today, the music in both our cars consist of audio CDs from Arkee that we never get tired of. We wish you all the best for everything, and hope to catch you and Mr. Kapadia live in Canada in the near future!
